Columba 50 doses Vaccine for immunisation against paramyxovirus in pigeons Content of the active substance and excipients One dose of 0.3 ml vaccine contains:  Active substance: Pigeon paramyxovirus 1 strain 988M-ca, inactivated: induction min 5.8 log2 HI * units in chickens *  Haemagglutination inhibition  Adjuvant: Non-mineral oil emulsion  Excipient: Thiomersal  Species for which the VMP is intended Pigeons.  Therapeutic indications  For active immunization of pigeons from 4 weeks of age to reduce the severity of clinical signs, mortality and virus shedding after paramyxovirus infection. Building immunity: 14 days after injection. Duration of immunity: 1 year    Dosage and method of administration Subcutaneously in the area of ​​the back of the neck to the tail, not on the head or intramuscularly in the pectoral muscle. The dose of vaccine for each age group of vaccinated animals is 0.3 ml. Primary vaccination: (young pigeons) first injection from 4 weeks of age. It is recommended to make a second injection 21-28 days later, depending on the epizootiological situation. Revaccination: (adult pigeons) 1 injection every 12 months, at least 21 days before the start of the flight and show season. Duration of immunity 1 year. Allow to warm to room temperature before application. Shake well before and occasionally during application. Apply under aseptic conditions. Only sterile syringes and needles should be used.   Withdrawal period  Zero days.    Contraindications, warnings, etc   Do not vaccinate sick birds. Occasionally there may be a slight swelling at the injection site for 10 days. In laboratory studies, small swellings were observed, which were absorbed within 28 days after subcutaneous injection in 0.5% of pigeons. Special precautions for use: No information is available on the use of the vaccine during reproduction. Vaccination during the breeding season is not allowed. No information is available on the safety and efficacy of this vaccine when used with another veterinary medicinal product. Therefore, the decision to use this vaccine, before or after the use of another veterinary medicinal product, should be made on a case-by-case basis. Do not mix with any other veterinary medicinal product. In case of accidental self-injection, seek medical advice immediately and show the package leaflet or the label to the physician. Use only with ornamental pigeons not intended for human consumption.    Storage and transport  Store at 2° C ± 8° C. Store in the original carton. Transport at 2° C ± 16° C, protected from sunlight.
